America recently introduced a multi-protocol EPC-compliant RFID solutions for customer pilots and beta tests and fully supports the Uniform Code Council's (UCC) EPC initiatives including projects driven by Wal-Mart, the Department of Defense (DOD), and other major retailers. SATO will now enable suppliers to Wal-Mart and other retail companies to meet the upcoming RFID mandates in North America.

Jan Svoboda has been appointed to lead the RFID Business Unit with support from his technical and sales staff. The unit will report directly to Robert Linse, vice president of sales and marketing at SATO America with Victor Barczyk, vice president, business development, SATO International spearheading the worldwide effort.
